Classic Barn Style Doors That Never Go Out Of Style

There’s a lot to be said for keeping things simple. The Shaker Classic Single Panel is our most popular sliding barn door because it truly can go anywhere. From the most traditional homes to the most contemporary, from shabby chic to mid-century modern, it will always look good.

We've selected the most popular option of a flat panel in Knotty Alder to feature on the website but this style is available in your choice of three panel styles: flat panel, vertical tongue-and-groove, or horizontal tongue-and-groove. For even more customization options, call us at 800-651-4223.

This door style lets the wood do the talking, and we recommend keeping it that way.

Unlike so many other options out there, the Shaker Single Panel is a truly solid wood door—why not show that off? Finished in Clear EuroSatin for a luminous sheen that still preserves the wood’s texture. No barn door is complete without sliding hardware, a floor guide, and some barn door handles.  Again, because the Shaker Panel is so simple, that means it will complement any of our hardware styles.

A sliding barn door has a couple of unique advantages over a swinging door. First, it saves floor space, since it slides along the wall, which is ideal for narrow spaces in your home where a swinging door would get in the way. Second, because it’s always visible whether open or closed, it functions as an instant focal point, excellent for rooms without an architectural anchor. Here are some common applications for barn doors:

  • Kitchens and Pantries
  • Hallway and Utility Closets
  • Living Rooms
  • Bathrooms
  • Home Offices

Doors ordered with a hanging hardware kit will come pre-drilled for that specific kit.  Doors ordered alone will not be pre-drilled for hardware.

Order Process: Within 1 business day of submitting an order, a CAD drawing will be sent via DocuSign to the email address provided. Upon sign off on the CAD drawing, the order will be officially accepted and sent to production.

Finish: Doors are beautifully finished with a Clear Satin Eurofinish by Osmo, a premium hand-rubbed hardwax oil that conditions, seals, and finishes the wood.

Osmo combines the advantages of both penetrating and surface protecting finishes. This gives it an advantage over urethane or traditional oil finishes. With the conditioning benefits of penetrating oils and the protection of a durable wax surface, it provides a breathable, smooth exterior that gives you the best of both worlds.

Osmo is all-natural, derived from plant-based oils and waxes. Ideal for application in any room, this non-toxic finish has been tested and approved in Europe for children’s toys.

One of the greatest advantages of Osmo is that it is easily maintained, and is spot repairable without the need for sanding.

Osmo Hardwax Oil Benefits:

  • Protects wood from the inside, soaking deep into the wood and protecting the surface
  • Micro-porous formula forms a molecular bond with the wood
  • Surface is able to be touched up or re-coated
  • Enhances natural wood color and grain patterns
  • Will not crack, flake or peel
  • Great liquid resistance
  • Easy to maintain
