Barron Designs Architectural Products Featured in The 2026 New American Remodel®

Barron Designs is proud to have its architectural products featured in The 2026 New American Remodel® (TNAR), one of the official show homes of the NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS). This year’s project showcases Driftwood Faux Wood Beams and Coarse Sawn Faux Wood Corbels, both finished by the designer, as part of a high-profile remodel that reflects where residential and light commercial design is headed next.

For builders, contractors, and designers, TNAR is more than inspiration. It is a real-world proving ground where materials are selected not only for aesthetics, but also for performance, efficiency, and scalability across future projects.

Why Builders Pay Attention to TNAR

The New American Remodel® is a fully executed, market-driven remodel designed to test emerging products, construction methods, and design strategies under real constraints. It evaluates how materials perform within tight timelines, evolving codes, and modern expectations around energy efficiency, indoor-air quality, durability, and long-term value.

Products featured in TNAR are not chosen casually. They are specified because they align with current design trends while also making sense for real clients, real budgets, and real build schedules.

Barron Designs’ inclusion in this program underscores the growing demand for architectural details that deliver a high-end look while supporting practical project execution.

Why Builders Chose Barron Designs for the TNAR Show Home

According to Jeff Dordick, Vice President of Sales at Barron Designs, the TNAR project presented immediate challenges:

“Renovating this 1950s home posed unique challenges. Multiple past renovations had left the residence with a fragmented identity, and the entire project needed to be completed in just eight months—far less than the typical 14-month timeline.

Originally, Barron Designs was asked to provide a single beam to conceal an existing structural transition. After collaborating with Phil Kean Design Associates, the scope expanded to include faux wood beams in the kitchen, family room, and primary bedroom to restore warmth and character throughout the home.

We also enhanced the exterior by replacing traditional wood or vinyl soffits with faux wood tongue and groove, complemented by faux wood corbels along the home’s perimeter and throughout the lanai. The result is a cohesive, elevated design using materials engineered to resist water, insects, and wood rot—ensuring beauty that stands the test of time.”

This is a familiar scenario for builders and designers: what begins as a targeted fix evolves into a broader design strategy once the product’s visual impact and jobsite advantages are clear.

Driftwood Faux Wood Beams: High-Impact Design Without Structural Complexity

The Driftwood Faux Wood Beams used throughout the interior and exterior of the TNAR home were finished by the designer to align with the project’s overall aesthetic. Their impact, however, extends well beyond surface appeal.

As Phil Kean, architect and owner of the TNAR project, explains:

“The beams were transformational. They took the spaces from ordinary to extraordinary.”

From a builder’s perspective, that kind of transformation matters most when it does not introduce structural complications or disrupt the schedule. Faux wood beams deliver warmth, depth, and architectural definition while helping teams maintain momentum on tight timelines, especially on multi-area remodels where sequencing matters.

Coarse Sawn Faux Wood Corbels: Exterior Detail That Delivers a Cohesive Finish

Barron Designs’ contributions to the TNAR extended outside as well, grounding the home’s back patio ambiance with decorative corbels that reinforce the project’s cohesive architectural identity.

The Coarse Sawn Faux Wood Corbels - Double Bullnose featured in the show home were finished by the designer and selected to elevate transitions and exterior accents with an authentic wood look. For builders, corbels are the kind of “small detail” clients notice immediately, and they often help tie together soffits, rooflines, covered outdoor spaces, and architectural focal points.

And because Barron’s faux wood products are engineered for exceptional durability, they can be a smart option for clients who want the warmth of wood without the same exposure concerns that typically come with traditional exterior wood applications.

Products That Make Sense for Builders, Contractors, and Designers

TNAR is built to inspire, but it is also built to perform. That is why the materials used in the show home matter to professionals who must deliver on design, budget, timeline, and durability expectations.

Barron Designs products are often specified because they support:

  • Cost-effective ways to achieve a premium look
  • Lightweight materials that simplify handling and installation
  • Faster installation workflows that help protect project schedules
  • Durable construction designed for interior and exterior applications
  • Design flexibility that allows teams to scale high-end details across multiple spaces

In a high-visibility show home like TNAR—where every finish is scrutinized, and every trade is scheduled—those advantages become even more meaningful.

A Signal of Trend Alignment That Pros Can Build On

A stunning back patio with warm architectural detailing, layered textures, and elevated finishes

Being featured in The New American Remodel® signals more than product placement. It reflects alignment with what clients are asking for right now: warmer architectural detailing, layered textures, and elevated finishes that feel intentional rather than needlessly ornate.

For builders, contractors, and designers, Barron Designs’ presence in TNAR reinforces a clear takeaway: faux architectural products are no longer treated as substitutes. They are strategic tools for delivering standout design while maintaining control over timelines, labor realities, and long-term performance.

See the Future of Building at IBS

As an official show home of the NAHB International Builders’ Show, The New American Remodel® gives IBS attendees the opportunity to experience how products perform within a real, design-forward remodel. Each year, IBS brings together builders, contractors, designers, and architects to explore the materials and methods shaping the future of home building.

Within the TNAR home, professionals can see how architectural elements like Driftwood Faux Wood Beams and Coarse Sawn Faux Wood Corbels are specified and integrated—insights that translate directly from the show floor to real-world design projects and possibilities.

Barron Designs is proud to be part of that future.
