“Dream Designers” Go Faux – Barron Designs Announces the Use of Their Fake Wood Products by Contestants on NBC’s New Reality Show, American Dream Builders

FauxWoodBeams.com announced that their fake wood products were used by two competing interior designers on NBC’s American Dream Builders, Vanessa DeLeon and Dann Foley.

According to Steve Barron, President of Barron Designs, the parent company of FauxPanels.com and FauxWoodBeams.com, both designers were so smitten with the natural look of fake wood, they each incorporated it into their own Spanish-influenced room designs.

"Vanessa used our beams on the ceiling of one of her rooms, and Dann paired the Sandblasted fireplace mantel with beautiful painted tile for his assigned room. Both designers shared pictures and great feedback on Twitter, which we were extremely delighted to see. Then Pella Windows retweeted the news and congratulated us as well, which was awesome!”

Vanessa DeLeon - a lifestyle expert, interior designer and featured home renovation TV personality on HGTV, The DIY Network, etc. - is the founder of Vanessa DeLeon Associates in New York City.  Her effusive feedback about FauxWoodBeams.com (with photo) can be found at: https://twitter.com/VDADesigns/status/451833091955642368/photo/1

Dann Foley, a California-based outdoor furniture, bedding, renovation and furniture designer, was part of the intense competition of American Dream Builders through April 27, 2014. His accolades about the experience of working with FauxWoodBeams.com products (with photo) can be found at: https://twitter.com/DesignerDann/status/456497007595487232/photo/1

Barron Designs’ products were included in the April 6th episode of American Dream Builders. The show features teams of hand-picked interior designers from across the country, competing to produce livable and long-lasting “magazine-worthy” room makeovers.

Modern fake wood products look amazingly natural because they are molded from real wood beams. The molding process captures a variety of wood grain features and even worm holes. Each beam is then hand-painted to reflect unique, realistic color variations found in real wood. Per Barron, more upscale new builds and luxury home renovation projects feature a mix of real and faux materials.

FauxWoodbeams.com has hundreds of products, styles and color options to choose from. Visit their site for dozens of creative project ideas, client feedback and “Before” and “After” photos. American Dream Builders airs Sundays, 8/7c on NBC. For more information about the show, the remaining contestants, judges and host, Nate Berkus, visit: http://www.nbc.com/american-dream-builders.

Fresh Face of Faux - Barron Designs Announces New Stacked Stone Veneer Product; Regency Stacked Stone White Paneling Delivers Modern Style & Durability for Makeovers, Renovations & New Builds

FauxPanels.com, a subsidiary of Barron Designs, has added Regency Stacked Stone panels in White to their extensive line of products. The New York-based firm is a major supplier of faux stone and brick decorative building products.

FauxPanels.com has added a new color choice to their popular Regency line of stacked stone veneer paneling. According to Steve Barron, President of Barron Designs, the parent company of FauxPanels.com and FauxWoodBeams.com, the new option is in response to a spike in demand for white.

"With the addition of white, we now have twelve beautiful color choices, including Espresso, Honey, Iced Coffee, Potomac and Tudor, which cover modern, transitional and more traditional tastes."

The complete Regency Stacked Stone line can be found on the Faux Panels website at: http://www.fauxpanels.com/regency-stone/styles-stacked-stone.php?color=108. Per Barron, in addition to the DIY market, faux paneling and faux wood beams increasingly in demand with architects, contractors, interior designers and retail store planners for a range of luxury-market projects. This popularity can be attributed to their high-density polyurethane makeup - a material that is extremely durable, modern and stylish. "And white is leading the list, as one of our newest best sellers."

"White is one of our best selling panel color options!" Steve Barron, Co-Owner BarronDesigns.com

Today's faux stone and wood building products look amazingly like their natural counterparts because they are molded from real stone walls and wood beams, so realistic weathering - as well as every nook and cranny - is captured. The panels and beams are then hand-painted to reflect color variations found in real stone and wood - which makes it virtually impossible to distinguish whether it's fake or not, even at close range. Per Barron, even white paneling contains different nuances that are appealing to home owners, interior decorators and commercial space designers.

FauxPanels.com has thousands of faux stone styles and color options to choose from. Visit their site for creative project ideas, client install feedback and photos, and measuring, ordering and installation tips. Smart Room Makeover Options – DIY Tips using Faux Stone, Brick and Wood Products

Thinking about doing a room makeover? Need to refresh your home on a tight budget? Here are some quick tips for achieving stellar results using faux stone, brick or wood products.

First, consider the space and the ambiance you want to create. Do you want a warm, inviting environment with natural earthy tones? Or does a fresh, modern, clean look suit your lifestyle?

Once you decide on your room’s personality, visit our Project Ideas page. There you can access a huge range of residential project photos for stunning kitchen backsplash, accent wall, bathroom and outdoor living space ideas. Take notes on the product names used in the projects you like.

Next, browse your favorite options, and check out the close up pictures of the different panels or beams that you’re interested in. If you’re not sure of your final choice, consider ordering several samples. For a minimum (rebate-able) investment you’ll be able to see the product in the space and live with it for a few days before making your final choice.

Check out some of our videos here, for additional project and installation ideas.

Once you’ve decided on the faux stone, brick or wood product you want, take measurements and head to the phone. A knowledgeable customer service person can advise you on how much product to order, possible accessories, and specific product installation tips.

Though some quick ship options are available, plan on a 2-3 week turnaround once your order is placed, which allows ample time for order processing and shipping time. Custom-made orders may take more time, so make sure you understand the specific product order and shipping times when planning your room or outdoor living space makeover project.

Here’s additional helpful information about faux stone, brick and wood products:

  • Decorative faux panels and beams are made from lightweight, high-density polyurethane foam and cost a lot less than their real counterparts.
  • Because the products are lightweight, there are no load-bearing wall issues to worry about, and they are much easier to handle and install.
  • Modern faux products are amazingly realistic. They are molded from real wood, stone or brick, then they are hand painted - so the faux panels or beams have weathered and textural qualities, just like real wood, stone or brick.
  • High-density polyurethane products stand up well to extreme cold, high moisture, bright sunlight and other weather and living conditions, so they are a great pick for indoor and outdoor projects.
  • Unlike real wood products, termites and insects are not attracted to any faux wood polyurethane products.
  • Faux stone or brick panels apply directly onto the drywall with regular construction adhesive; and slot together seamlessly.
  • The basic tools you’ll need include construction adhesive, a wood-cutting saw, drill and a caulk gun.

If you’d like more information about many different faux building and renovation product options, visit FauxPanels.com and FauxWoodBeams.com, or call (800) 651-4223.

Tuscany Arched Faux Wood Beams in a stunning residential install.

FauxWoodBeams.com, a major resource for faux and reclaimed wood beams, adds a variety of new arched beam options, as well as one new custom faux wood beam and matching mantel.

According to Steve Barron, President of Barron Designs, the parent company of FauxWoodBeams.com, the new arched beams match the style and texture of many of their custom beams, so it's much easier for homeowners, architects and contractors to design and create a truss system with them.

The new arched beam styles include Arched Sandblasted, Axed, Heavy Sandblasted, Aspen, and Resawn, spanning classic, modern and more traditional looks. These new styles, as well as another new custom sandblasted faux wood beam, can be found on the Faux Wood Beams website.

The new products provide different aesthetics, expanded color variety and style choices, making them an excellent choice for redecorating residential great rooms, building entrances, conference halls and churches. "And the wood grain detail on these faux wood beams is absolutely amazing!"

Barron Designs keeps close tabs on home, retail and commercial design and colors trends. Per Barron, whose clients include national brands like Ralph Lauren, Old Navy and Carrabba’s Italian Grill, the demand for realistic-looking faux wood building products has been dramatic.

He cites the following short- and long-term benefits of high-density polyurethane building and renovation products:

-Faux wood beams are amazingly realistic. Each faux wood beam style is molded from real wood and hand painted, so it has multidimensional qualities and graining just like real wood.

-Build and product savings. There are no load-bearing wall issues to contend with, so product and build costs are much lower as compared to using real wood beams of the same dimensions.

-Easier and faster installation. Due to the lightweight nature of faux wood beams, project managers and homeowners save time and save on labor costs.

-Durability. High-density polyurethane products stand up extremely well to extreme cold, high moisture, bright sunlight and other weather and living conditions.

-Vermin-free. Unlike real wood products, termites and insects are not attracted to any polyurethane products.

Barron Design News - January 10, 2014

Modern Makeovers - A little bit old school, a little bit rock & roll

Designers, architects, contractors and DIY-ers agree - modern polyurethane products have come a long way in 30 years - when decorative architectural features were first introduced in residential and commercial building and renovation markets.

Realistic-looking faux stone, brick and wood panels have advanced so much that even at 3 inches away, it's hard to tell whether the multi-dimensional stone wall or naturally-distressed wood mantel you're looking at is real or not.

The secret of polyurethane's durability is its closed cell structure, which makes it very stable as well as keeping moisture from migrating behind coatings. Moisture migration causes serious problems in real wood building products (such as wood beams or molding), promoting paint failure and rot. Because of the closed cell structure of polyurethane, paint tends to last longer and not be lifted off by moisture.

With the increase of stylish, natural-looking choices - along with the cost-effectiveness and easy installation process - more polyurethane decorative building products are being integrated into high-end as well as budget-conscious projects.

Steve and Ruth Barron, sibling co-founders of FauxPanels.com and FauxWoodBeams.com which supplies a robust line of natural looking faux stone, brick and wood products to clients around the country, have seen a surge in business over the past 2 years.

"Faux is no longer considered un-cool, and it's about time!" says Steve Barron.

Per Ruth Barron, the fashion community has had some effect on the public's perception of the positives of different faux products. "When it comes to faux home and building décor, the collective benefits far outweigh any old concerns. Modern faux products can add character and a real "wow" factor while allowing homeowners and project managers to shift the time, product and labor savings to high-end appliances, lighting fixtures, more square footage, furnishings, and art.

When eyeing the bottom line, faux building & decorative products also eliminate load bearing wall design or compliance issues, and minimize a host of long-term maintenance and repair problems over their real counterparts.

Per Steve, what really rocks - without any special tools or experience - a newbie or seasoned renovator can literally transform and modernize many different living and entertaining spaces in a few hours.

FauxPanels.com and FauxWoodBeam.com products have been touted on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, the DIY Channel and HGTV, but the Barron siblings are just as delighted by the effusive feedback they get from their contractor and independent home renovation clients.

"We get a bunch of new 'before' and 'after' home makeover photos sent to us everyday, so we see this is not a passing fad. Our faux building and decorative products are gracing the walls and ceilings of million dollar homes, churches and corporate headquarters as well as fixer uppers."

Deer Park, NY - According to a Yahoo News article by Ross Kenneth Urken, an increasing number of U.S. consumers are becoming their own Bob Vila. A GfK study conducted for MainStreet.com found that 70% of planned home improvement projects will involve some DIY and/or family and friend elbow grease.

A major factor in the DIY craze – besides the easy availability of online tutorials and videos on sites like Pinterest and YouTube, and a growing number of DIY-themed TV shows – is the lure of major cost savings.

Where style, durability and affordability meet

One Long Island based company is reaping the benefits of the growing DIY sector. The Barron Designs family of online remodeling sources - FauxPanels.com and FauxWoodBeams.com- has seen a 40% increase in the sales of their diverse product lines in the past 12 months.

Several key factors for this result include:

  • a detailed process of simulating real stone, brick and wood – which includes hand-painting the polyurethane “stone”, “brick” and “wood”.
  • the lightweight nature of the product, which eliminates extra design and building costs pertaining to load bearing walls
  • the easy installation process, which eliminates the need for special tools or a mason
  • the number of looks and styles that are available
  • Class A fire rating product options
  • low- to no maintenance
  • indoor / outdoor use
  • weather resistant

“We have the right products for a growing number of home, commercial and business reno

projects.“ Per Steve & Ruth Barron, sibling co-owners of Barron Designs, mo

re and more thrift-conscious as well as upscale remodelers, designers and builders are seeking ways to cut costs without sacrificing style.

While Barron Designs faux panels and faux wood beams have been featured on HGTV, DIY Network and ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition, as well as other popular remodeling TV shows, Steve and Ruth are happy that every day contractors and the average DIY-er are pleased with the results too.

“We get effusive feedback and before and after pictures of a variety of home makeover and other reno projects all the time, says Ruth. Social media has been a terrific testimonial, installation advice and news-sharing tool for us, but the direct positive feedback we get everyday has been truly stellar.

Per Steve Barron, the company is looking forward to expanding their online products and client-centric services further in 2014.
